What We Accomplished This Legislative Session

·Beth Camp

When I ran for Georgia House District 135, I made a promise to the families, farmers, and small business owners of Lamar, Pike, and Spalding counties: I would go to Atlanta and fight for you. This session, I am proud to say we delivered.

One of our biggest wins was securing funding to expand rural broadband access across our district. Too many of our families and businesses have been left behind by slow or nonexistent internet service. That changes now. Reliable broadband means our students can learn, our farmers can compete, and our entrepreneurs can grow — right here at home.

We also passed landmark legislation protecting parental rights in education. Georgia parents have the right to know what is being taught in their children's classrooms, and this session we made that right the law of the land. No more closed-door curriculum decisions. No more parents being shut out of the conversation.

On the agriculture front, I worked alongside my colleagues to reduce the regulatory burden on our farmers. Georgia agriculture is the backbone of our economy, and our farmers deserve a government that works with them — not against them.

There is still more work to do. But I am grateful for the trust you have placed in me, and I will keep showing up under the Gold Dome to fight for the values and priorities that matter most to House District 135.
