Supporting Our Law Enforcement and First Responders

·Beth Camp

Safe communities do not happen by accident. They are built by the men and women who put on a uniform every day and run toward danger so the rest of us do not have to. Our law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, and first responders are the foundation of public safety in House District 135, and they deserve our full and unwavering support.

I have been a consistent and vocal supporter of law enforcement throughout my time in the Georgia House. I believe in funding our police departments adequately, providing our officers with the training and equipment they need, and ensuring that the men and women who serve our communities are treated with the respect and dignity their service demands.

I also believe in accountability. A strong law enforcement community is one that earns the trust of the people it serves. That trust is built through transparency, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to the communities our officers protect. I support policies that strengthen that trust.

Our volunteer fire departments and rural EMS services face unique challenges. Recruitment is difficult, equipment is expensive, and the calls keep coming. I have worked to secure state funding and resources for our rural first responders, and I will continue to do so.

The safety of our families is not a partisan issue. It is a fundamental responsibility of government, and one I take seriously every single day.
